2026 Hooke Road Off-Road Build Photo Contest Recap (2): Truck Builds

Author Dawn Z

Our Hooke Road Photo Contest brought together an incredible variety of off-road builds, and this time, we're putting the spotlight on the trucks.

From adventure-ready Tacomas loaded with gear to rugged Gladiators and full-size F-150s built for extra protection, these trucks show just how differently you can approach an off-road build.

A huge shoutout to everyone who shared their builds with us. We loved seeing how you put your Hooke Road gear to work in the real world.

Here are three standout truck builds from the contest:

1. The Adventure-Ready 2013 Toyota Tacoma

This Tacoma is a prime example of a functional overlanding setup. The owner has transformed the rear into a fully functional basecamp. At the heart of this build is a custom heavy-duty Bed Slide System, making gear access effortless even when loaded down. Above the bed, a robust Truck Bed Rack supports a large hardshell rooftop tent and an awning, creating a comfortable living space high above the trail. With a set of aggressive all-terrain tires and a molle panel system on the rack, this Tacoma is ready for extended trips off the grid.

2. The Trail-Ready 2020 Jeep Gladiator

This Gladiator build focuses on utility and ruggedness. The rear end is fortified with a heavy-duty Rear Bumper featuring a swing-out tire carrier and a Molle Panel accessory mount. This setup not only relocates the spare tire for better departure angles but also provides a secure spot to mount a Hi-Lift jack, traction boards, or fuel canisters. The addition of a roof rack and a bed rack system ensures that cargo capacity is maximized without cluttering the interior. It’s a clean, purpose-built rig that’s ready for rocky trails and weekend adventures.

3. The Rugged 2015 Ford F-150

This F-150 is built to handle the high-speed desert terrain and look good doing it. The front end features a distinct Mesh Grille with the "FORD" lettering, paired with a Hooke Road Front Bumper(upper half) that the owner seamlessly integrated with a custom lower half for a truly one-of-a-kind look. Out back, the truck is equipped with a Hooke Road Rear Bumper, which the owner customized with a fresh coat of paint to match the truck's striking two-tone white and black livery with blue accents. Complemented by wide fender flares, a bed rack system, and aggressive tires, this truck strikes the perfect balance between aggressive styling and off-road capability.
