3 Updates to Perfect the Ford Bronco Roof Rack

3 Updates to Perfect the Ford Bronco Roof Rack

If you have a roof rack installed on your Bronco, please understand that we still can't completely eliminate wind noise. What we can do is modify the design of the front fairing to adapt it to the aerodynamic system. We also know that many Bronco owners love this Hooke Road full roof rack for Ford Bronco. Therefore, we did our best to solve the wind noise problem and now have a third version that is within the range of tolerable wind noise even at highway speeds.

Let's see how we did it.

What Causes Wind Noise?

There is a noticeable gap between the Bronco’s roofline and the front edge of the roof rack, which serves as a primary source of wind noise. When air flows through this gap at high speeds, it generates turbulence and pressure fluctuations, resulting in increased noise levels.

Based on this principle, we made some rubber strips to fill the gap, so that wind noise will be reduced. If you also want to solve this problem, buying rubber strips is a good choice.

 Here are some installation tips:

1. Press the rubber strip into the gap between the front fairing and the roof rack to ensure a tight fit.

2. If step 1 does not solve your wind noise problem, you can also use tape to cover the front gap.

Upgraded Front Fairing

Yes, the rubber strip does reduce wind noise, but it looks a bit strange. Therefore, we chose to improve the design of the front fairing of the roof rack so that it can fit perfectly with the roof contour, as shown in the picture below. You can see that the gap is finally reduced. We also tested the rack installed on the roof and driving on the highway. The wind noise is within an acceptable range.

Thanks to many customers for their feedback, let us know the shortcomings of the product and continue to improve.

  • I would love to see side panels that come down over the back windows will molly panels for more attachment’s and gives it just a bit more strength.
